A Meadow With A View
For a 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival manse on a hilltop near Griffith Park, we replaced a hard terrace with a flowering meadow of Buffalo and Blue Grama grasses and a seasonally-shifting palette of annual wildflowers. At the center is a sitting area with couches around a fire feature clad with custom hand-made zellij tiles from Morocco. Four olive trees previously in pots are now rooted in the ground and will grow to connect a shady canopy.
